CATCH 22 DANCE PARTY MIX DJ Disciple and radio have been linked almost since the start of his DJ career in 1986.In those college years he worked for WBMB (Baruch College Radio) and WHCS (Hunter College studios) before moving on to New York Radio station WNYE, 91.5FM. It was at that station that Disciple’s name grew quickly into the popular name that would be the staple of the city’s underground dance music. By breaking artists, Roger Sanchez, Kerri Chandler, Todd Edwards, and so many others, The Best Kept Secret in New York Radio show became cutting edge and pioneering. For 10 years the show became one of the best Deep house platforms in New York Radio. By 1993-1996 Disciple expanded his mixes to Bay FM in Japan where his popularity grew in Tokyo, taking him to places such as Club Yellow at its peak. When he traveled to Europe Disciple’s sound evolved, particularly in the UK where he and partner Tony Walker founded the Transatlantic mix on KISS FM. As one of the very first American DJ’s to have a dance show on UK radio, Disciple ended his run on WNYE 91.5 in 1997. The Transatlantic mix became so popular; Disciple and Tony Walker did 3 tours in 1998 with a minimum of 30 dates apiece. In 1999 Kiss FM Changed to Galaxy Radio with the Transatlantic mix being broadcasted nationally across the UK. The show ended at the end of 2001 but the impact of the personalities still gained great acclaim. After 3 years Disciple decided to take his show on the net. First to SSRADIO (Thus. 6-8) in Leeds, then back to London cyber and radio with HOUSE FM (Mon. 2-4). Last but not least, as Disciple’s sound continued to evolve he’s added a monthly after hours RED-LITE mix which both shows his evolution and versatility in dance music. Sit back listen and enjoy the best of both worlds. |
